Open - Sunday 12th July

Happy Matariki, currently minus 5, going to be another stunning day, with lots of sun and no wind.

Wall to wall coverage of nice, cold, wintry snow.

All the hard work has paid off and The Poma is open. The skiing and ridding off this is for advanced boarders and skiers only.

Road is open to 4WD/AWD with chains; please fit these at the Old Carpark.

Don’t forget we have snow play/sightseeing for $30 per family.

A Ski/Snowboard rental and a transport service are provided by Ski Gear Direct in Hanmer Springs. Please contact them directly on 027 362 1101 or email skigeardirectnz@gmail.com. NO SKI OR SNOWBOARD HIRE GEAR IS ON THE FIELD.

The Alpine Winter Festival is currently on in Hanmer Springs - https://www.alpinewinterfestival.co.nz/

We are taking part in this and are having an open day on Saturday, the 18th of July. We will be doing 50% off lift pass, also just a great chance to come up for a look around and have one of the fabulous sausages from the Akaroa Butchery, Deli and Pantry. Lucky for us they are club members.

Cheers,
Team Amuri

New Zealand Club Fields offer a truly unique grass roots, pared back, low key snow experience in huge contrast to the larger resorts of today. It’s our belief that a day on the snow is about who you’re with, where you are and not how hot your gear is!

Hanmer Springs Ski Area is a friendly, fun ski area just 17km from the alpine resort town of Hanmer Springs. From the top of the field there are great views of the surrounding mountains of St James and Molesworth Stations and the distant peaks of the Nelson Lakes National Park.

There are a variety of groomed runs and off piste to choose from for all ages and stages of skill.  Slopes can be viewed from the lounge in the Day Lodge so spectators don’t miss out and the beginner’s area is right beside it with excellent open terrain for kids.  The ski area is ideal for the family or group of friends for a weekend away with fun filled runs for everyone.

There are three lifts - a Poma, a Rope Tow and the learners area with a Fixed Grip Tow. If you have never used a nutcracker before, Hanmer Springs is a good place to start !

The car park is at the base of the huts and it’s just a short walk to the tows. There are no queues so you can get in as many runs as your body can handle and the  tows operate until you want to stop!  The cosy mountain accommodation is backpacker style and is self catering, so don’t forget to bring supplies.

To top off a perfect day or weekend in the mountains a soak in the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools will ease the strain on the muscles. The village also has some great Restaurants and Bars, and even a nightclub for those with stamina!
