Fancy yourself as a bit of a MacGyver?…

Can you fix a Snow groomer with number eight wire, sweet talk a generator into action on a frosty morning, drive a tractor or snow groomer or both, entertain tourists and locals while on lift duty, organise a ski race with or without snow, wear a clown suit with credibility or spin your body around a table after a few friendly’s? If so we want you!

Hanmer Springs Ski Area is an easy 40 minutes drive from the alpine thermal holiday resort of Hanmer Springs. The Ski Area is run by the Amuri Ski Club (Inc.) and caters for all stages of skiers. Access to the runs is by way of one of the longest poma lifts in the country and a rope tow.  While all the main runs are groomed there's still plenty of virgin snow left for the experts and the more adventurous to enjoy.

The Hanmer Springs Ski Area requires enthusiastic, energetic people to fill the following positions for the 2009 season. Positions require people who are up for adventure, hard work and lots of laughs.

Mountain Manager who will be responsible for the day to day running of the ski area. Applicants should have an understanding of ski area operations, mechanical skills and good PR skills.

Assistant Manager who will be responsible for assisting the manager with the day to day running of the ski area, helping out other field staff when required and from time to time taking on the responsibilities of running the field in the managers absence.

Office Person who would need basic computer skills and good PR skills.  This person would be in charge of all bookings and accommodation, cleaning and general hut duties.  

Ski & Snowboard Instructor Staff who are also capable of helping with ski area operations.

Ski Patroller:  who would need Ski patrol & forecasting experience. Minimum qualifications: NZ or Canadian avalanche level 1, advanced first aid, explosives certificate. You will also be required to assist in ski area operations.

Staff accommodation is provided in a comfortable lodge on the mountain.
