The Amuri Ski Club owns and operates a ski club building
at Hanmer Springs Ski Area for its members and guests.
Robinson Lodge is named after Brian Robinson, a Rotherham
farmer and former Club President who was tragically killed by a kick from his horse
in the mid 1980s.

It is a pleasant wooden building located a few steps
down from the Day Lodge. There are four bunkrooms which each have six bunks with
room for four mattresses on the mezzanine above them, and four family rooms with
one double bed and three to five single beds each.
The Lodge therefore caters for a maximum of sixty four
people. All rooms have north facing windows and there is central heating from nightstore
heaters operated by the generator, which also heats up the water for the showers.
Waking up in a family room and watching the dawn light up the snowclad Inland Kaikoura
Range is a fantastic experience!
There are some spare blankets and pillows but generally
people should bring their own sleeping bags and pillows. No smoking or candles are
allowed in the lodge, and battery lamps are provided for those who need light after
the generator is turned off each night.
Cooking is done in the Day Lodge kitchen where there
are plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. Visitors should bring their own food
supplies. Visitors are requested to keep their rooms clean and tidy.
The Robinson Lodge has hosted botanical and photographic
groups during the summer and is ideal for parties with a difference at any time
of year. Conference groups looking for a mountain hut atmosphere would have all
they needed, and team building weekends could be pretty special in the isolation
of the mountains.
Ski season charges: $25 per person per night (discount
for groups of over 10 people). $60 for family (2 Adults
and their children) per night.
